I Heart the Carrboro PD

In one of my countless random jobs, I am helping my mom tally the arrests in Chapel Hill and Carrboro due to underage drinking and drugs. I have found that perusing the police reports can actually be quite entertaining. The Carrboro PD has to actually write a play-by-play of every single incident that occurs. This one was my favorite of the day:

"Complainant states that a woodchuck is eating his flowers. I issued a wildlife trapping permit, and set a trap."

Keep On Truckin'

This has been a year full of ups and downs, both personally and professionally, to say the least. But today marks one of the ups, thank goodness.

Last week I booked a national commercial for a trucking company and today I'm on set, one my favorites places to be (second only to being curled up on the couch with my soon-to-be-hubbie). You may or may not know that I'm a workaholic (say whhhhhat??!?) and I love working and being a part of creating something like this. Even if it's a commercial and not a gripping piece of theater. Or a hilarious hit web series like The Junior League of Superheroes (www.getJLoSHed.com). Just as an example.

The crew is awesome, and it's great when everyone's actually getting paid! It's the small things in life, really. In terms of when this commercial (in which I play a young trucker - yeehaw!) will air, that's yet to be determined. From what I've heard, it's supposed to air on cable. If I get a copy, I'll definitely post it!

As for my personal life, it's been a whirlwind summer. After our incredible tour of Europe with the Leahy clan, Brian and I returned to a life of engagement in LA. My bro spent the summer, sleeping on our couch and occasionally interning at Bunim-Murray, the production company that does The Real World and other highly-intelligent shows. One 600-square-foot apartment, a newly-engaged couple and a 21-year-old frat boy. Tuesdays at 9. Sounds like the real world to me! We were supposed to spend this week at Oak Island with my fam, but this job got in the way. Brian is still lounging there without me, braving the in-laws up close and personal.

I did get to go home for a few days though, and actually bought my wedding dress! I know it's early, but we've got so many things to do, anything I can knock off the list is great! I got a steal of a price, too. I'm totally thrilled. Sorry I can't post any pics. The man might see!

...can't think of a clever non-cheesy title...

Brian and I are engaged!!! I thought about naming this blog, "Dum, Dum, Da-dum" or something easily as cheesy, but then decided against it.

Yes, after 5 years (and 2 months...to the day!) Brian proposed to me in Brussels. Email me if you want all the sappy details :)

The Junior League of Superheroes!!

I'm also SO excited to announce the launch of our web series (the reason I've been a lazy blogger for the past six months -- all because of this project!!!). You better get JLoSHed. www.getJLoSHed.com

...and tell your friends...
