Day Two: Jackson to Austin

Hello readers, whomever you may be! Joanna has asked me to compose this evening's blog while she treadmills and stairmasters in the exercise room on the 3rd floor. But let's go back to the beginning, i.e. this morning.

After a hearty Continental breakfast (bagel and country gravy, anyone?), we left the Jackson Comfort Inn roundabouts 9am, soon finding ourselves in Louisiana territory. Good reading, quick naps, vast wheatfields and Bayou trivia kept us occupied.

Today's music selections consisted of Joss Stone, Death Cab, Dick Clark's Top 40 and Radiohead's "In Rainbows". Scooter soon found a comfortable bed atop a family-sized box of his mom's Graham Crackers, where he slept for nearly three hours!

As it turns out, the highlight of the day was our 6pm arrival as we pulled up to the swanky DoubleTree Suites. Our "suite" - surprise, surprise - comes complete with kitchen ("Dishwasher! Gee, jojo, I don't think we're in Brooklyn anymore!"), living room, bedroom and wide city views. Oh boy, oh boy.

So here we are, writing to you from our glorious suite, minutes away from stepping out to enjoy Texas, the State of Unnecessarily Large Ford Trucks. 'Til tomorrow!
